Mark Farrington our new Governor

15th April
Mark

Virtual School Sensory Support is pleased to welcome Mark Farrington who joined the Finance & Staffing Committee as Chair in November last year. Mark lives in Norwich with his partner Lisa and their two young children, Chloe who is three and Jack who’s 18 months, having moved from Hampshire four years ago to be closer to Lisa’s family.  Both children were born profoundly deaf and have bilateral cochlear implants.  Having worked internationally in countries such USA, India and China, Mark, who works for the IT company Hewlett Packard, is now pleased to be closer to home. “It was always challenging working away with young children, especially with the many hospital appointments, so I’m delighted to now live and work in the same place, particularly in a city as lovely as Norwich” said Mark.

“The deaf world was new and scary to us both. The fantastic help and support we had from Medical staff, Norfolk Deaf Children's Society and Sensory Support was invaluable. I was really pleased to be approached to join the VSSS as Parent governor and hope I’m able to contribute to the great work the team does”.

At weekends and in his limited spare time Mark time enjoys walking on the north Norfolk coast and football. Having originated from Hammersmith, London Mark is a native Chelsea follower, but with Lisa’s influence he’s now a regular at Carrow Road for every home game!
